Well, we survived our chemo dosing. Now we'll see how it sits! The appointment went smooth - we had a great nurse (Paula). She was phenomenal with us. The toughest part was probably the Adriamycin - it's this red stuff that the nurse needs to put a full bio-hazard suit on to administer and "pushes" it through the IV (rather than the normal mechanical drip of all the other meds). It was a bit intimidating (they also encourage you to crunch ice while you're getting dosed to help with some of the side effects) but went smooth and Linda did great throught the whole process. Her PowerPort http://www.bardaccess.com/port-powerport.php (no promotional fees paid here) worked well. She made friends with a lady in a room down the aisle (hard to believe, her making friends with others) that has been on chemo for 8 years and was in for a 4 hour dosing - "it's really not so bad, honey, you just feel like you have the flu for a few days". Brian and Austin even stopped by to say hi and check out the digs.
We came home, went for a walk while she was still feeling good, and my Mom brought by home-made Runzas (don't tell Kevin, Audrey). Austin inhaled two of them by the time we sat down!
Linda's feeling a bit "off" now but otherwise doing well at this point. Usually people feel worse on days 2,3,4 so we'll see where it goes from here.
Rob.

Oh Lady Marmalade! Love the blonde fro. Now if Linda wears one like that, will Rob don one too? That's a pic I want to see. Rob, are you sure you didn't fart and that's why the nurse wore that bio-hazard suit? Har har. Hey, we got an ultrasound picture of DeKam Boy #2 yesterday. All I have to say to you two is this: better start shopping for a chastity belt for Cricket b/c there will be not one but TWO DeKam slammers on the loose in about 15 years. And we know that Cricket is going to be hot--just like her Momma! Come to think of it, Poppa DeKam will qualify as a dirty old man by then. Perhaps you'd better just lock yer daughter up.

Hi Linda and Rob,thank you for posting such great up to date info for us all. The good, the well... hummmm bit of a bummer we will say, and the down right funny.
All of our good energy is sent your way every day so use it when your's might feel a little drained.
Love,
Debra and Valencia
So glad to hear things went OK for the first dose! Yeah, so hard to imagine Linda making friends with someone down the hall! What great news about those Lymph Nodes too! Yea! Keep up your great attitude and take good care of yourselves...
We love you guys!
Cute picture of Baby DeKam, Audrey! Now, just keep those boys away from our little Cricket! If your boys are like Kevin they'll just end up on the computer instead of chasing girls anyway. :)
Hey Linda and Rob this is your cousin Sande. Love the blog! Love you guys too!! Just wanted you to know that I think of you guys everyday! Love You and take care of the little one.
