She is an ounce away from 6 pounds, passed her eye test (still needs another follow-up in 2 weeks), and said many goodbyes to her wonderful friends in the NICU. We already miss them but it is nice to have her home. Ava is very social and likes to have people around her. Talking, noise don't bother her but she gets a bit cranky when she's not being held, especially at late night hours when we're (supposed to be) sleeping. So, we are not getting much sleep but it's still wonderful to be home with her.

Ava and her NICU pal Gaiane. They had matching Mexican dresses (gifts from a couple of NICU nurses that just got back from vacation). In this photo it looks like they had a little too much partying and drinking (milk of course!):

CONGRATULATIONS! I remember the first morning home so clearly when we could all just lay around in bed for as long as we wanted. It felt so "normal" after all that time getting up and dressed to walk over to the NICU to see my baby. It was such a heavenly feeling! We are so, so happy for you!
What glorious news !! Yippee! Wowza..... you guys just hole yourselves up in that cozy home so little sweetcheeks can continue growing & thriving, and you can grab the occasional (and very needed!) catnap. I'm thinking we should take turns stopping by & peeking in the window at Ava's Approved Viewing Hours !! Welcome Home little love...
This will be the happiest Thanksgiving in your family history. I envision you all crying tears of joy at the table...or tears of exhaustion. Same thing with a new baby, really. Now your family is complete and at home. Wonderful news. So happy for all of you!
